Each year, the membership card is designed by a Bern-based artist – it is therefore a portable work of art in itself. With your contribution as a member you are supporting the creation of new artworks commissioned especially for our space and enabling conversations to unfold between artists and audiences, between local and global voices. You help us present artists and cultural workers from Bern, Switzerland and around the world. Berner Kunstfonds
Berner Kunstfonds was founded in 1993 by Verein der Freunde Kunstmuseum Bern, Verein Kunsthalle Bern and the Bernische Kunstgesellschaft in order to jointly intensify and coordinate the relationship with private patrons.
Kunstmuseum Bern and Kunsthalle Bern are dependent on additional financial support from private donors in order to run an attractive art and exhibition program. As a patron, you also contribute to the expansion of the Kunstmuseum's collection. Further information is available here.
Bernische Kunstgesellschaft
The Bernische Kunstgesellschaft promotes an understanding of contemporary art and supports young artists, the Kunstmuseum Bern, the Zentrum Paul Klee and the Kunsthalle Bern in particular.
Bernische Kunstgesellschaft organizes guided tours of exhibitions, visits to works of art in Switzerland and abroad, studio visits and lectures. Every year, it awards the Louise Aeschlimann and Margareta Corti Scholarship, the most highly endowed private art prize in the canton of Bern. Further information is available here.
Stiftung Kunsthalle Bern
Stiftung Kunsthalle Bern purchases works by artists that are exhibited at the Kunsthalle (outside the Christmas exhibition). The works are primarily made available to the Kunstmuseum Bern on loan for public exhibitions. The aim is to continuously build up a significant collection of contemporary art. Stiftung Kunsthalle Bern works hand in hand with the Kunsthalle and the Kunstmuseum. Further information is available here.

Maria Eichhorn Share Certificate
Purchase a personalized share certificate of Kunsthalle Bern with a value of CHF 50.-, CHF 100.-, or CHF 500.-! The certificate is an artwork by artist Maria Eichhorn, created in 2001. By purchasing a share, you support Kunsthalle Bern and acquire a symbolic share in our building. Share certificates were first sold in 1912, when the proceeds were used to finance the construction of Kunsthalle Bern.
