Opening of the exhibitions

Opening of exhibitions by Edgar Calel and Lin May Saeed.

We cordially invite you and your friends to the opening on Thursday, March 5 at 6:00 PM!

Edgar Calel (*1987) questions the history of agriculture and the associated spiritual and artistic practices in his native Guatemala. He addresses the exploitative working conditions in export-oriented agricultural businesses, while also highlighting the efforts of indigenous communities to fight against the exploitation of their land and for the protection of nature and their rights.

Lin May Saeed (1973–2023) explored the relationship between humans and animals in her work and questioned the hierarchies between them. In her drawings and sculptures, animals are not relegated to play a symbolic or decorative role, but become active protagonists. In this way, Saeed envisioned a coexistence between human and non-human beings characterized by solidarity and care.
